Michael Wolf shot his series, “ 100 x 100, ” at the Shek Kip Mei Estate, the oldest public housing complex in Hong Kong.. . . “Imagine if someone came to our place and asked to take a picture, we’d probably say no,” Mr. Wolf said. “And maybe if the photographer had a compelling reason, maybe we’d say, ‘Maybe tomorrow, I need to clean up.’ This never happened there. Once they said yes, they said, ‘Come on in.’ And so you basically had this immediacy of the interior. I love that about people. It also shows that they have a lot of self-esteem about how they live.”
